Geocaches provide a mechanism for character engagement with the local environment which does not require interaction with a game referee. Geocaches are often enclosures that provide mediated directives or resources. Typically but not necessarily of unknown location to players prior to the game.

  • Weatherproof boxes hidden in outdoor locations containing information or resources accessible to characters with the relevant property identified on the box, such as a skill in 'tracking'.
  • Detailed props hidden in indoor or outdoor locations with attached lammies
  • Envelopes hidden in books providing translation ciphers
