A directive given by referees to manage the physical boundaries of roleplay, which advises the next game space is not yet ready and players should improvise a delay.

Example(s)

  • At an event with specified time-in periods, the start of the event has been declared by a referee call and players have progressed through several encounters. However, the special effect for the next stage of the story is not yet in position, so a referee issues a directive to the players to 'faff'. Players march on the spot and continue to roleplay as if their characters were traversing the countryside as part of their journey.
