A safe word is a pre-agreed directive call available for use by all participants to call a halt to the game in order to address a safety concern.

Example(s)

  • The use of the call "man down" is a common directive listed in rule documents for multiple systems to pause all immediate game activity in order to address a serious incident requiring physical first aid.
